Rugged tablets add value as an indispensable work tool at BP Castrol in Vietnam
With distribution centers throughout Vietnam and a large customer database, BP Castrol sells leading oil products to the Vietnamese market. Delfi Technologies, a European solution provider with a branch in Vietnam, met the need for a mobile and robust work tool to help BP Castrol sales representatives become even more efficient.
Through 60 distribution centers in Vietnam, Castrol BP Petco Co. Ltd. handles the production and distribution of oil through its own sales channel, where a large team of sales representatives handle daily inquiries, product sales and follow-up.
With a wide range of products and an extensive customer database, the need to be able to access information about products and customers – when salespeople are on the road – has arisen over time. The need was defined as a mobile and robust tool that could handle the company’s extensive CRM system while being easy to work with.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENT
For this project, BP Castrol tested many well-known tablet manufacturers, but none of them passed the test in harsh environments and the demands of working outdoors with rain, dust, drops on the ground and exposure to petroleum products etc.
Based on the technical analysis and comparison of different suppliers, the final choice was Delfi in Vietnam as the supplier of the tablet solution with 320 rugged industrial tablets (Unitech TB560) including 3-year service and maintenance contracts to cover the sales team at the local distribution centers.
The choice of Delfi as solution provider was made when BP Castrol needed a strong supplier with extensive experience in mobile barcode solutions for industrial use and large customer references.
MOBILITY AND EFFICIENCY ARE KEY
Having used the rugged industrial tablets since 2017, BP Castrol has achieved greater mobility and efficiency during the working day, which is essential for providing the best possible service to customers.
BP Castrol’s own sales application is integrated into the tablet solution, so salespeople always have their CRM system at hand when meeting customers on the road, with sales data updated in real time. In the morning, all salespeople can see their dedicated tasks on the tablet. This creates an overview and eliminates the need for paper and handwritten documents in environments where water, oil, dust, etc. are a natural part of the workday.
Delfi has been part of the entire process from the very beginning – from product testing to implementing the final solution and training the sales team.
