Quick Call has given MENY Sdr. Omme more time and more peace of mind

At MENY Sdr. Omme, store owner Martin Dam Ørts Hansen has started using Quick Call from Delfi Technologies. With wireless VoCoVo headsets, employees can quickly reach each other across the 1,000 m² store. It has meant less unnecessary running around, faster help and a more efficient day-to-day.

With 27 years’ experience as a store owner, Martin Dam Ørts Hansen has seen many new solutions come and go. So he wasn’t convinced either when the opportunity to start using headsets came up. One of his concerns was whether the technology would change the personal atmosphere in the store.

But it quickly became clear that the technology didn’t replace personal service – it made it easier to deliver it.

Faster help and less unnecessary running around

The headsets don’t replace conversations with customers. They make it easier for employees to help each other without having to leave the customer or task they’re dealing with.

Communication happens directly in the ear, so employees can coordinate discreetly and quickly. That means less time spent looking for a colleague and more time for customers.

“It’s been a gamechanger for us,” says Martin Dam Ørts Hansen.

In a 1,000 m² store, even a single question can quickly turn into a lot of steps. If an employee is, for example, unsure about a price, or a barcode is folded and can’t be scanned, a colleague can help immediately via the headset.

The same applies when staffing is under pressure. In cases of illness or fewer employees on shift, tasks can quickly be coordinated, and colleagues can help each other across the store.

An easier way to ask for help

The solution has also made a difference to teamwork. For new employees, it can feel daunting to have to shout for a colleague across the store or interrupt another employee to get help. With headsets, it’s become far more natural to simply ask.

It makes it easier to get help when you’re unsure, and to share experience and knowledge across the team.

“We can be so much more effective in what we do,” says Martin Dam Ørts Hansen.

An extra tool for safety in the store

Quick Call has also proven useful when employees need to make each other aware of something without creating unnecessary attention.

If an employee notices suspicious behaviour, the message can quickly be passed on via the headset. This makes it possible to respond discreetly and also ensures that employees aren’t left alone with the situation.

For Martin Dam Ørts Hansen, it’s yet another example of how headsets can make everyday life easier and create greater peace of mind for employees.

A gift for everyday life

Today, it’s hard for Martin Dam Ørts Hansen to imagine everyday life without headsets.

What began as a consideration of whether the technology would fit into the personal store environment has become a tool that both employees and customers have benefited from.

For the store owner, the biggest gain is the time freed up when employees can help each other quickly and without unnecessary running around.

His advice to other store owners considering the solution is therefore simple: Just get started.
