WhyWaste
Delfi Technologies has a close partnership with Whywaste, which works to eliminate food waste worldwide. The company provides food retailers with cutting-edge SaaS solutions that help them minimize waste and increase profits.
With the Whywaste app, you can work purposefully with expiration date control. The app keeps track of the shortest dates on the shelves and notifies you when a product is about to expire. This saves you time and gives you the opportunity to make a price reduction and print price labels so you can sell items with short expiration dates.
Too Good To Go
Delfi Technologies also partners with Too Good To Go, a service that connects customers to restaurants and stores with surplus unsold food.
Too Good To Go was created to fight food waste – one of the world’s biggest environmental problems.
With the Too Good To Go app you can buy surplus food and help reduce food waste. In the app you can find good food and make a difference at the same time. Save lucky bags of good food at a great price from restaurants and stores near you.
The Food Bank
Delfi Technologies provides barcode solutions to FødevareBanken, the largest organization in Denmark that works in a structured and food-safe way to distribute surplus food to the vulnerable.
From food waste to meal with electronic item registration
The Food Bank collects and redistributes surplus food for the benefit of socially vulnerable children and adults. Throughout the process, a high level of food safety and traceability is ensured by a solution from Delfi Technologies for electronic goods registration.
GS1
GS1 is the world’s most widely used system for supply chain standards and retail barcodes. Our close collaboration helps companies across the value chain ensure traceability, security and waste reduction.

Solutions for food waste
We have put together a palette of solutions that specifically target food waste and work with price markdowns.
Handheld terminals
The Whywaste app can be installed on a mobile phone or PDA/handheld terminal that is already used to manage important tasks in the store – such as receiving goods, ordering goods, stock counting, etc.
On the handheld terminal, you can quickly and easily get an overview of which items are approaching their expiration date and then make price reductions and print price tags for marking items.
Price tags
Price labels are used to inform about price reductions or special offer prices to reduce food waste.
You can make use of yellow labels as price tags. Here you can lower the price of a specific item or product group and then print a price label for marking up items in the supermarket.
At Delfi Technologies we can deliver customized labels with pre-printed messages – for example “Fight food waste”.
Mobile label printers
Mobile label printers are used to print price labels and highlight price reductions. They are small and compact with the option of belt mounting, so the employee can have both arms free and perform other tasks at the same time.
Stationary label printers
The more traditional/stationary label printers can also be used to print discount labels from a fixed print station – for example, to have in the back of the store or office. This solution is well suited if there is a high demand for printing. It could also be printing multiple self-adhesive labels at the same time instead of printing single labels.
