What is Delfi EasyScan?

Delfi EasyScan is a “Barcode Scanner* Device Management Tool”. It is a software tool used to manage, configure and secure scanner functions.

The solution covers the vast majority of an organization’s scanner devices. An SDM tool helps organizations ensure that their scanners are used consistently and securely.

What challenges form the basis for Delfi EasyScan’s development?

• Numerous scanning tasks requiring multiple or complicated configurations.
• Several maintenance tasks for the support department.
• Scanners can only be configured locally.
• Local enthusiasts at different sites with “own knowledge” who maintain the solutions.
• Many different applications with different interfaces, and thus different scanning tasks.

What is the structure of Delfi EasyScan?

EasyScan is a client/server-based system. Updates, maintenance and administration are performed via a server, while configurations are performed locally on client machines via a client application.

EasyScan takes over the configuration task in the scanner: Configurations are then stored centrally on a server, rather than locally on the individual scanner. This simplifies deployment, maintenance and support tasks.

Delfi EasyScan is used for

• Ensuring different user equipment is configured to a consistent standard.
• That all devices can be configured centrally from. (Remote management)
• That all updates to scanners and their features can be scaled as needed.
• Users use applications in a consistent way that ensures data security.
• Ensuring equipment works consistently, every day, always.
• Being able to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot scanners from a centralized location.
• To ensure that all scanners work in all applications, and sub-functions in each program. (EasyScan is designed to recognize context in different applications).
