PLANTORAMA ROLLOUT OF ESL

Denmark’s largest garden center chain chases green profile

Plantorama is introducing electronic price tags in all stores, which will ensure the chain a significant reduction in their paper consumption. The project will strengthen the chain’s green profile and have a positive impact on customer experience and employee satisfaction.

In February 2019, Plantorama installed electronic shelf labels in the garden center, Plantorama Egå, near Aarhus. Based on positive experiences from this, the chain has now decided to roll out electronic shelf labels to the remaining 10 garden centers across Jutland, Zealand and Funen.

– We have successfully tested electronic price tags in our garden center near Aarhus, which has already saved both time and paper. We will now roll out this benefit to all stores, so that we can become even more efficient in the long term, while at the same time realizing a major financial gain at chain level, says Heidi Paaske Christensen, project coordinator at Plantorama.

"By using electronic shelf labels, we can ensure updated prices in all stores, give our employees more time for sales and customer service, while keeping paper consumption as low as possible."
