“More and more stores are choosing digital price tags because it provides a much more flexible operation. Price changes can be managed centrally and updated instantly in the stores. At the same time, it reduces manual work and the risk of errors, which ultimately gives a better experience for both employees and customers.”

When the price tag becomes digital – and everyday life in the store becomes easier

At Imerco Home in Waves Shopping Center, digital price tags from Delfi Technologies have replaced the paper on the shelves. This creates a more efficient workday for the employees and ensures that customers always encounter updated prices and information.

In a busy retail environment, even small changes can make a big difference. At Imerco Home in Waves Shopping Center, they’ve taken a step that more and more stores in the retail sector are now following: the paper signs have been replaced with digital price tags from Delfi Technologies.

The result is better clarity for customers in the store, while the staff saves time in daily operations.

Clear information for customers

On the shelves in the store, promotions are automatically highlighted with red markings on the digital price tags. Member offers, Super Price deals, and other campaigns therefore stand out clearly, while the tags display relevant product information such as name, item number, barcode, and other necessary data.

The customers get a quick and easy overview at the shelves. But the biggest difference is felt behind the scenes in the daily operations.

A more efficient everyday life in the store

According to store manager Claus Ibsen, the switch to digital price tags has made a noticeable difference in daily operations.

– It has become much faster to work with prices and campaigns in our daily routine. Before, we had to print and replace paper signs manually. Now all signs update automatically, and that saves us a lot of time, he says.

Where the staff previously had to spend time printing new signs and walking through the store to replace them, price changes and campaign updates now happen digitally in the system.

It means fewer manual tasks — and more time for the customers.

New products on the shelf in just a few seconds

The digital solution also makes working with new products much easier. According to an employee in the store, the process has become significantly simpler today.

When a new product needs to go on the shelf, the employee simply takes a digital tag, scans the barcode on the product, and then the barcode on the tag. The product and the tag are then automatically linked in the system, so the price and product information are displayed correctly right away.

This means the staff no longer have to print new signs and replace them manually. The entire process is digital and automated, allowing new products to be placed correctly on the shelf quickly.

A clear advantage during busy periods

The digital price tags truly show their value during the periods when retail is at its busiest.

During Black Friday, Christmas shopping, sales periods, and other peak times, prices and campaigns can update automatically, so the staff doesn’t have to spend time changing signs.

Instead, they can focus on the customers and on keeping the store inviting.

A development that is spreading across the retail sector

For Imerco, it’s not just about technology, but about making everyday work in the store simpler. And in an industry where the pace only continues to increase, that difference can be crucial.

According to Jacob Hansen, who is Head of IT Operations & IT Security at Imerco, it is precisely efficiency and flexibility that are driving the development.

– More and more stores are choosing digital price tags because it provides a much more flexible operation. Price changes can be managed centrally and updated instantly in the stores. At the same time, it reduces manual work and the risk of errors, which ultimately results in a better experience for both employees and customers.
