New technology at Davidsen delivers faster service and stronger teamwork

As the first Davidsen store, Davidsen Høruphav has implemented a new communication solution from Delfi Technologies. With wireless headsets, intelligent push buttons, and integration with the yard barrier gate, the store has achieved faster response times, better internal communication, and more time for customers.

In Høruphav near Sønderborg, Davidsen operates a modern timber yard and DIY store with a large shop, a professional trades department, and a focus on high service for both private customers and professional tradespeople.

The store on Sydals has now invested in a solution designed to make it even easier to provide fast and efficient assistance—also during periods when staffing is at its lowest.

Easier assistance during off-peak hours

At Davidsen Høruphav, the team works with a clear goal: customers should be helped within 10 seconds. But with both a shop, a warehouse, and an outdoor timber yard, it can be a challenge to be present everywhere at the same time—especially during off-peak hours in the morning and evening.

That was the background to Operations Manager Bo E. Nielsen beginning to explore the options for a smarter communication solution.

“We needed a smarter way to ensure fast help for customers—also during off-peak hours, when we cannot always cover the entire store and the yard. That is why we started looking for a solution with wireless headsets,” says Bo E. Nielsen.

Fast help at the touch of a button

The new communication solution from Delfi Technologies enables employees to communicate directly via wireless VoCoVo headsets across the shop, warehouse, and timber yard. At the same time, intelligent push buttons have been installed in several departments, allowing customers to quickly call for assistance.

When a customer presses a button, the message is sent directly to employees’ headsets, so the nearest employee can respond quickly.

The result is less waiting time and more time for personal service and advice.

Integration with the yard barrier gate

A special part of the solution is the integration with the yard barrier gate outside. Every time a customer arrives by car and the barrier opens, employees automatically receive a notification directly in their ear.

This provides a significantly better overview of the yard and makes it easier to welcome customers quickly.

“Other suppliers could not solve the challenge of integrating the barrier with the headsets, but Delfi Technologies took on the challenge and solved it, so we now get a notification in our ear every time the barrier opens,” says Bo E. Nielsen.

As the person responsible for the yard and warehouse, Team Leader Allan Diedrichsen clearly notices the difference in everyday operations.

“It makes a big difference for us when we get a notification every time a new customer arrives by car. That way, we can be more attentive and ready to help.”

More presence in customer interactions

In the shop as well, the solution has made collaboration both faster and more efficient.

“It is a huge help in day-to-day work when we can simply press the headset and call a colleague, instead of running around looking or calling in vain on the phone,” says Trine Kellmann, Shop Team Leader.

At Davidsen Høruphav, the solution is seen as an important tool for strengthening personal service and ensuring an even better customer experience—without compromising efficiency.

As the first Davidsen store to implement the solution, the department has also demonstrated how technology can support both employees’ working day and customers’ in-store experience.
