A new retail concept has moved into Rødovre Centrum and is challenging the classic supermarket experience. With a focus on authenticity, convenience and quick meals, AsiaGo brings both Asian flavours and modern retail closer to consumers—where efficient operations and technology are an integrated part of the concept.
With a bang of an opening celebration, AsiaGo has opened its doors in Rødovre Centrum. The new Asian supermarket is more than a classic specialty store and brings a piece of Asia closer to Danish consumers through a concept that combines retail, takeaway and experience.
The shelves are packed with authentic ingredients and specialties from across Asia—from a wide selection of noodles to colourful snacks and beverages that are otherwise rarely found locally.
In the middle of the store, customers can put together their own noodle bowl: choose noodles, get a bowl at the checkout, and add hot water themselves. A simple but effective experience that draws on Japanese konbini culture, which also lives on in the store’s seating area.
Behind the venture is Abdullah Sangari, Managing Director and board member, who has built his experience in wholesale through KFT in Kødbyen (Copenhagen). That experience is clearly reflected in the concept.
The range is carefully selected, and operations reflect in-depth knowledge of both supply chains and demand. Where the wholesale link normally operates behind the scenes, AsiaGo is a direct meeting with consumers—fast, accessible and experience-driven.
But a broad range comes with requirements. In a store with hundreds of item numbers and ongoing changes, accurate and up-to-date price information is crucial—both for the customer experience and for day-to-day operations.
Here, AsiaGo has chosen a digital solution with digital price labels from Delfi Technologies, making it possible to update prices and information in real time while ensuring a consistent visual look throughout the store.
“With a large and dynamic range, it is crucial that our prices and product information are always up to date. Digital price labels are therefore a natural part of our operations. They give us the necessary flexibility in day-to-day work and ensure that customers always encounter correct information on the shelves,” says Abdullah Sangari.
With the opening in Rødovre Centrum, the first step has been taken—and it points towards a new wave of Asian retail experiences in Denmark.
AsiaGo’s ambitions already extend further. New supermarkets are on the way in Slotsarkaderne in Hillerød and in Kolding Storcenter, where the Asian concept will open during the summer.
