In the heart of Funen, DanBlumen runs extensive production of flowers and plants for supermarkets, garden centres and business customers in Denmark and abroad. As one of the country’s leading players in the plant industry, the company handles thousands of trolleys every week—and that requires structure and precision throughout the entire logistics process.

To maintain an overview, each plant and each trolley is fitted with labels containing all necessary information about variety, destination and delivery. The labels serve as a key tool in the work—they ensure that each trolley can be identified quickly and that deliveries reach the right customers.

In the humid and cool packing rooms, some of the previous labels quickly showed their weakness. Moisture and temperature changes caused them to wrinkle, fade or fall off completely. At the same time, using white labels made it difficult to distinguish which trolleys were ready for dispatch—and which were not.

The result was wasted time, confusion and a logistics puzzle—especially when the many trolleys of flowers had to be located for collection. DanBlumen therefore needed a solution that could withstand real-world conditions: a label that would stay attached to the trolleys regardless of humidity, cold and heat—while also creating a clear visual overview in a busy environment.

“I explored various options and came across Delfi Technologies, which had a range that matched our need for colour labels with durable adhesive exactly,” she says.

After testing and dialogue, the choice fell on colour labels from Delfi Technologies. The new labels stay attached—even in cool and humid environments—and retain both colour and shape. At the same time, the colour coding makes it easy for employees to see which trolleys are ready for dispatch.

The labels are often used as cover-up labels, developed to withstand extreme conditions. They must be able to adhere to everything from damp or cold metal surfaces to lightly soiled surfaces—just like the trolleys used daily in DanBlumen’s distribution.
