“Before, we spent time writing and updating signs manually every day. It was both time‑consuming and impractical in a busy workday. Now we handle it digitally in just a few minutes.”

KVUC strengthens the experience in the cafeteria with digital signage

With digital buffet signs from Delfi Technologies, KVUC has made it easy to communicate the day’s selection clearly and visually during a busy day in the cafeteria.

KVUC is one of Denmark’s largest adult and youth education centers, based in Copenhagen, and it hosts many students every day across its various programs.

During breaks, many people move at the same time. Choices have to be made quickly. And the information needs to be clear.

Therefore, the cafeteria becomes a central hub in everyday life at KVUC. This is where students and staff gather around everything from breakfast and hot meals to sandwiches, fruit, and snacks. That places demands on how the day’s selection is presented.

With digital buffet signs from Delfi Technologies, communication has become visual, flexible, and accessible — right at the products.

Overview — even when the pace is high

The digital signs place the information exactly where the choice is made. This gives a quick overview — even when the line is long.

At the same time, both dishes and prices are shown directly on the sign. This makes it easy to choose confidently and correctly without needing to involve the staff. The cafeteria can also list allergens on the sign.

The solution is tailored to the cafeteria’s different needs:

  • Smaller signs for snacks and beverages
  • Medium-sized signs for the daily dishes
  • Larger, A4‑like signs with combined information — for example at the cake table or coffee bar

The result is a consistent and calm visual experience where the information is easy to decode.

Flexibility in real time

The selection changes continuously. With digital signs, KVUC can update the content instantly, ensuring that communication always matches what’s available in both the cafeteria and the kiosk.

It minimizes confusion and ensures a more efficient flow.

— Before, we spent time writing and updating signs manually every day. It was both time‑consuming and impractical in a busy workday. Now we handle it digitally in just a few minutes, says Nicklas Kjær, Technical Service Manager at KVUC.

From cafeteria and kiosk to classrooms

KVUC also uses the digital signs from Delfi Technologies outside classrooms and meeting rooms, where they function as digital door signs. Here, they help create clarity in a complex learning environment where many people need to find their way around.

With integration to Outlook and Ludus Web, the wireless room signs are automatically updated with information about the day’s teaching and meetings, contributing to a more structured everyday flow. This means KVUC can make better use of its rooms, and available time slots can be used for group work and spontaneous meetings.

A modern platform for information

With the digital signage solution, KVUC has unified its visual communication across both the cafeteria and the learning environment. This creates a more cohesive daily experience, where information is available exactly where it’s needed.
