VestVin: Digital price tags boost green profile in the wine business

In an increasingly competitive retail environment, it’s crucial for stores to find innovative ways to attract and retain customers. VestVin, a brand new and modern wine shop located in Skive, has found the recipe by implementing digital price tags from Delfi Technologies.

VestVin in Skive is a brand new 400 square meter wine supermarket with a green profile. In the store’s brand new premises you will find – in addition to a lot of exquisite wines – a floor made from 66,000 small end pieces of residual wood from window production. Even the wine racks are specially designed and produced from residual wood for VestVin.

A boyhood dream come true

For Palle Strande, who has been a grocery store distributor for more than 20 years, it was a boyhood dream that finally came true. His great passion and hobby is wine, and now it was time to open VestVin, together with his former sous chef, Sonny Hornstrup.

In connection with the opening of the store in Skive, a decision was made to install digital price tags from Delfi Technologies. By using digital price tags, VestVin has the opportunity to display prices and offers in real time. This means that the store does not have to spend time printing and setting up paper signs manually. In this way, VestVin can update their prices in the store faster, so the customer is always shown the correct price, which is also the price the item goes in at the checkout.

We chose to install digital price tags in the store to be able to quickly change prices for special offers and promotions, and at the same time highlight our great deals with a clear red color in real time.

In the near future, VestVin will also open an online store with a webshop. Therefore, it makes extra sense to have the digital price tags linked to the physical store so that the prices are the same online and offline.

Showcasing the good deals

The digital price tags highlight offers and volume purchases with a red color, so the customer is in no doubt that there is a discount available. This enhanced product information makes it easier for customers to make purchasing decisions on the spot.

The store can design the price tags to show special offers, discounts or events. This helps attract customers’ attention and creates a sense of exclusivity and advantage in shopping at VestVin. This kind of dynamic marketing has been a very effective tool and has helped increase sales.

Different sizes of signs

In the store at VestVin you will find digital price tags in different sizes. There are the smaller signs, which are primarily placed on shelves by chocolate and other delicatessen products, and then there are the slightly larger ones. The large signs are attached to the large wine racks, where they also have an A4 sign attached. The A4 sign describes the wine in more depth with various descriptions, links to food, various awards and the like.

The digital price tag shows the price for 1 bottle and 6 bottles. All in large, clear text with a red background so the customer is in no doubt about the price.

The digital price tags are connected to an antenna that sends product information to the tags as soon as a price or information changes in the ERP system. It’s all connected to a cloud server, which only requires an internet connection to the antenna to function.
