Modern food market is ready for the future

In mid-November, MENY Viby Zealand and experienced grocer Hans Olesen welcomed a modern food market, which after a multi-million remodeling is now ready for the future.

When you visit MENY Viby Zealand, you enter a food market that has been upgraded with new inventory and more products have been added. Employees can also concentrate on serving and advising customers, as electronic shelf labels automatically update all the prices of the products.

– It’s all about providing good service to keep customers coming back. With electronic shelf labels, we can work faster and it allows us to free up time for our employees – time that they can instead spend on serving customers and making sure the store looks inviting,” says Hans Olesen, who will soon celebrate his 40th anniversary as a grocer.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

There have also been many adjustments to the range as customers’ needs and wishes have changed in recent years. Today, there is a greater demand for gluten-free and lactose-free products. Vegan products have also been given more space in the store.

– We need to listen to our customers and follow their needs. That’s why we’re constantly looking at our range and making sure we can offer something for everyone,” says Hans Olesen.

Many customers also want cooking to be quick and easy. Both when it comes to shopping and cooking. That’s why the deli has been given more space with a larger selection of semi-finished and finished dishes.

GOOD PLANNING AND INNOVATION

With many years of grocery store experience behind him, Hans Olesen is a very knowledgeable merchant, but he is also a merchant who keeps up with the times and welcomes innovation in the store.

– When it comes to running a store, it’s all about good planning and innovation. With good planning, we can make sure that customers can find all the products they need in one place – and that there are employees in the store who have the time to help them. Renewal helps ensure that customers keep coming back because they get a good shopping experience,” explains Hans Olesen.

MENY is part of the Dagrofa grocery group. The majority of the group’s stores are run by independent grocers. Nationwide, more than 200 Dagrofa stores (MENY, SPAR, Min Købmand and Let-Køb) have installed the Breece solution with electronic shelf labels.
