From sceptical to indispensable: Kvik Kald makes everyday life easier at SPAR Ø. Brønderslev
At SPAR Ø. Brønderslev, Jan Jæger and his daughter, Maria, run the store together. With a small, permanent team, they initially weren’t sure how much they would really get out of a solution with wireless headsets.
Today, they have no doubts. Kvik Kald has made communication faster, reduced unnecessary running around, and made it easier to help both customers and colleagues.
A small supermarket with many tasks
When you’re a small supermarket, everyone has to be able to do a bit of everything, while there are several areas where customers need help – from the checkout and the bottle return machine to the post service, goods deliveries and the “Ja tak” offers.
In fact, it was the “Ja tak” offers that made Jan and Maria Jæger seriously consider the Kvik Kald solution.
Especially at weekends, queues could form by the stockroom when employees couldn’t hear that customers were ready to pick up their offers.
“We actually thought: We’re such a small supermarket – what do we need it for?” says Jan Jæger, store owner at SPAR Ø. Brønderslev.
But the opportunity to get communication around the “Ja tak” offers under control became a strong argument for trying Kvik Kald from Delfi Technologies.
The right help, when it’s needed
Before Kvik Kald, the store had a traditional alarm that called employees to the checkout. But it wasn’t necessarily the employee you needed who showed up. Today, they can quickly communicate where help is needed and who is best suited to handle the task.
This also applies when customers have questions about prices. Instead of spending time finding a colleague or perhaps just trusting the customer’s word, employees can quickly get a price checked. That gives the customer a faster answer and has also helped reduce errors and save the store money.
“It just makes things so much easier. We can quickly get hold of the right colleague, and we don’t have to run around looking for each other. That means things move faster – for us and for the customers,” says Jan Jæger.
From unfamiliar to indispensable
For some employees, it was initially hard to see the need for a headset, and it took a bit of getting used to. But attitudes quickly changed, and today the headsets are something they wouldn’t want to be without.
This also applies to younger employees, who find it easier to ask a colleague for help when communication is right at hand. Customers have also quickly got used to the headsets and find that employees are even easier to reach when help is needed.
An investment made possible by KFI
For Jan and Maria Jæger, it wasn’t a given that a small supermarket should invest in a communication system.
But with support from KFI, it became possible to take the leap – and today the conclusion is clear: Kvik Kald has become more than a solution for the “Ja tak” offers.
It has become a tool that ties the store together better, speeds up communication and helps employees spend their time where it makes the most difference.
What began with a degree of scepticism has today become a solution the employees wouldn’t want to be without.
