Digital price tags create calm in a busy store
How do you run a grocery store in the middle of a holiday paradise, where thousands of guests fill their carts every week? For SPAR at the newly opened Center Parcs Nordborg Resort, the answer includes digital price tags, which ensure correct pricing, efficient operations – and more time for customers.
SPAR has opened a brand-new store in Center Parcs’ first Scandinavian resort, which opened its doors in June 2025. The resort is located on Als in Southern Jutland, surrounded by coast, forest, and cultural-historical attractions – just 20 minutes from Sønderborg.
– It is a very special opportunity to open a SPAR in the unique surroundings of Nordborg Resort. We look forward to welcoming both locals and holiday guests to a store where we focus on fresh, quality products – and where providing a great customer experience becomes even more important when we meet such a diverse customer base every day. Being in the middle of a holiday paradise with many tourists makes it an extra exciting challenge, says Tina Søe Gosvig, Store Manager at SPAR Nordborg Resort.
"For us, the digital price tags bring peace of mind in our daily work. We can focus on being visible to customers and providing good service, instead of spending time on signage. It has become a natural tool."
A store in the heart of the holiday paradise
The resort features several hundred holiday homes, a tropical water park, and activities for the whole family – and at the center of the resort is the new SPAR supermarket. Here, thousands of holiday guests shop daily, often in large waves, requiring the store to be restocked quickly and staff to be visibly present on the floor.
Technology eases daily operations
With digital price tags from Delfi Technologies, which update automatically when changes occur in the checkout system, employees avoid spending hours manually changing signs – time that can instead be spent on customers and ensuring a well-functioning store.
The solution only requires an internet connection and a wireless antenna that transmits information between the checkout and the tags. This way, the store can always be confident that the shelf prices match the checkout – an important factor when the pace is high and international guests are pouring in.
Store Manager: A natural tool
– For us, the digital price tags bring peace of mind in our daily work. We can focus on being visible to customers and providing good service, instead of spending time on signage. It has become a natural tool, says Store Manager Tina Søe Gosvig.
SPAR is part of the Dagrofa Group, which also operates chains such as MENY and Min Købmand. Delfi Technologies currently provides digital price tags and IT solutions to the group’s chains. This collaboration helps ensure efficient store operations and a modern customer experience across the entire retail network.
