The chain operates 43 stores throughout Denmark and one in Sweden. In addition to their physical stores, NEYE also operates online webshops in both Denmark and Sweden.
For many years, NEYE has relied on handheld terminals and software from Delfi Technologies to ease the burden on store associates in handling daily tasks while ensuring efficient operations. The handheld solution is user-friendly and serves as a digital tool for employees to handle a wide range of important in-store tasks such as price tagging, merchandising, receiving, moving between stores and inventory counting.

To improve store operations, NEYE has implemented the right combination of technology and software from Delfi Technologies. NEYE uses a handheld terminal solution that has opened up greater flexibility in everyday life and a wide range of new possibilities.
The handheld terminal solution is built on Delfi Technologies’ modern, flexible and future-proof software platform that meets the current requirements of the chain, but is also designed to handle potential future needs of a chain like NEYE.

Many flexible features
In NEYE’s stores, employees can use the handheld terminal solution to access various functions. Among other things, stores can use a connected Bixolon mobile label printer to create price labels for their products. With just a few simple taps, employees can print the desired number of labels – directly on the spot, providing an easy tool for labeling goods at their fingertips.
In addition, the handheld terminals allow you to look up the price and current stock status of an item, enabling staff to help customers quickly without having to go to a computer to find the necessary information.
Efficient inventory management with handheld terminals
The store’s daily write-ups and write-downs of goods can also be done using the handheld terminals, as well as complete inventory counts, which typically take place a couple of times a year, compared to the continuous adjustments that are often made on a daily basis to ensure a correct and constantly updated inventory overview.
Employees can also use the handheld terminals to efficiently manage the receiving and dispatching of goods, where the transfer of goods to neighboring stores can also be carried out using a goods flow module that automatically adjusts inventory levels.
Mobile POS (Point-of-Sale) concept
NEYE’s handheld terminal solution also offers the possibility to implement a mobile POS setup on the handheld terminals. This allows NEYE to reduce their dependency on physical POS terminals by enabling payment transactions directly from the handheld terminals, which can instead act as the primary POS device and payment solution in the stores.
NEYE strives to deliver a more streamlined and customer-oriented experience by also being able to assign receipts to customer numbers or send them via email.

Future-proof emergency POS and data access
To address challenges with any internet outages or attacks, NEYE is also considering implementing an emergency POS solution via the new handheld terminals. This will allow transactions to be carried out without an internet connection and help ensure that stores can always operate efficiently. The handheld terminals can use SIM cards for data and thus function independently without internet in the store.
In the event of an internet outage, most cash registers and payment terminals go into an offline mode. This means that payments will not be completed until an internet connection is re-established. It also limits the ability of stores to check if a credit card has been stolen. Using emergency POS on the handheld terminals, payments will be flagged if an attempt is made to pay with a stolen credit card.
Centralized operation and easier customization
NEYE has implemented the software solution from Delfi Technologies along with appropriate hardware, giving them access to an online platform where operations and updates are managed centrally. This solution is flexible and scalable, which streamlines the management of the chain’s operations. In addition, there is the possibility to expand the solution and make adjustments according to any changing needs and requirements.
