Dansk Flise Lager has implemented digital price labels from Delfi Technologies as part of its strategy to embrace new technology and improve both staff workflows and the customer experience in its stores.
While Dansk Flise Lager has always been known for its impressive selection of ceramic tiles, it has now taken a new step to enhance the customer experience by integrating modern technology. The digital price labels that now adorn the stores are more than just a stylish accessory—they are a powerful tool that makes the shopping experience more convenient and informative than ever before.
One of the most significant changes the digital price labels have brought is increased accessibility for customers. At Dansk Flise Lager, they offer extended opening hours, all the way until 21:00. This allows customers to visit the stores at more flexible times, but it has also created an additional challenge—after 16:00, there are no longer staff present in the stores.
QR codes bridge the gap between the physical store and the webshop
This challenge has been solved by integrating the digital price labels and using the technology to, among other things, display QR codes on the labels. In this way, Dansk Flise Lager has managed to bridge the gap between the in-store experience and its online platform.
Customers who visit the stores outside normal opening hours can now easily scan the QR codes to get more information about the different tiles on Dansk Flise Lager’s webshop. This gives customers a unique opportunity to explore their options, read reviews, and see prices, even when there are no staff present in the stores. And by displaying the tiles’ price per square metre on the labels, it has been made even easier for customers.
Digital price labels – an added benefit in unmanned stores
This integration of digital and physical retail experiences is not only practical; it is also visible proof of Dansk Flise Lager’s ambition to meet customer needs with a dynamic store experience. The store in Herning has even taken it a step further with a fully unmanned store/showroom featuring a self-service solution, where customers can explore the selection of tiles at their own pace. Here, the digital price labels are an added benefit and an important part of the experience, as they provide customers with the necessary information even when there are no staff present.
“A few years ago, we only had a couple of stores, and we could manage replacing paper signs. But now that we have seven stores, it has become a logistical challenge to print and distribute the price labels every time we have new offers,” says Caspar Rasmussen, owner and project manager at Dansk Flise Lager, and continues:
“With the digital price labels, the most time-consuming part of the process now is how quickly we can press the ‘update price’ button on the webshop.”
An easier day-to-day for staff
However, the digital price labels are not only beneficial for customers; they also ease the burden for staff at Dansk Flise Lager. With soon seven stores to maintain and periods without staff present, the traditional paper-based pricing system would be a huge logistical challenge. Digital price labels enable instant price updates, which is crucial in an industry where attractive campaigns and offers are a core part of the business model. The digital price labels enable Dansk Flise Lager to adjust pricing and product information dynamically in real time. This means they can respond quickly to market trends and competitive offers without having to wait for manual updates of physical signs, and this is important when, like Dansk Flise Lager, you want to live up to your motto “Most beautiful tiles – best prices”.
Dansk Flise Lager can now centrally update prices and product information on its digital price labels for all stores at once. The labels in all stores are connected to their webshop, from which the labels retrieve data. If, for example, a tile is to be put on offer, they only need to change the price on the webshop. Within a few seconds, the price is also updated in all their stores.
combines personal service with online convenience
The transition to digital price labels is not only a sign of Dansk Flise Lager’s innovative approach to store operations; it also reflects a broader trend in retail. Companies that were previously reluctant to embrace new technology now recognise the value it can add for both customers and employees.
By combining the best of both worlds—the personal service in the store and the convenience that online shopping offers—Dansk Flise Lager has created an engaging shopping experience that aligns with the demands of the modern market. An initiative that helps strengthen Dansk Flise Lager’s position as a leading player in the tile trade in Denmark.
