Imerco is opening more and more stores under the new store concept Imerco Home. The store design will be inspiring and electronic shelf labels play a crucial role in the new store concept. One of the side benefits is happy employees and more time for customer contact.

In early 2018, Imerco launched its new store concept under the name Imerco Home with a special focus on inspiring options for interior design. The new store concept and the good store locations came into play in connection with the acquisition of Inspiration, where some of the former Inspiration stores have now been transformed into the new Imerco Home. The store concept is well thought out and there is a clear plan for the design and interior of the new Imerco Home stores.

– The Imerco Home stores will offer exciting ideas for interior design. With the new concept, we have placed great emphasis on an inspiring and stylish look. In addition, we have incorporated electronic shelf labels into the concept – they just fit in well, both in terms of style, but basically because there is a significant time saving that our employees can convert into increased customer contact, says Thomas Sonne Hansen, District Manager at Imerco and responsible for the implementation of electronic shelf labels.

FROM PAPER TO ELECTRONIC SIGNS – A GREAT HELP IN EVERYDAY LIFE

The electronic shelf labels project started at Imerco in 2015, when the first store switched from traditional paper signs to electronic signs. The solution helps create a coherent experience across all sales channels – Imerco, Imerco Home and the webshop Imerco.dk. In addition, it is a great help in everyday life, says Thomas Sonne Hansen, who has been involved in the project from the start:

– I have only received extremely positive feedback on the use of electronic shelf labels in our stores, it is a great help in everyday life. In practical terms, the solution runs in the cloud and it gives us easy operation and maintenance of all stores. Once you’ve switched from paper to electronic signs, you basically don’t need to do anything else. After that, all price and product information updates are automatically sent to the shelves in the stores.
With the extra focus on home and interior design at Imerco home, customers will be met by a different and exciting shopping experience in the new stores. At the same time, the service will be world-class.

– The strategy behind Imerco Home is to embrace a broader range – both in terms of home accessories, but especially in terms of the target group we reach. We want to inspire even more and continue to provide the best possible service. Electronic shelf labels are a tool that gives employees more time to provide good service,” says Charlotte Nielsen, District Manager at Imerco with responsibility for 32 Imerco stores on Zealand.
