Mestergruppen enters group agreement with Delfi Technologies for ESL solution
One of Scandinavia’s largest DIY groups has entered a strategic collaboration with the IT company Delfi Technologies on an ESL (electronic shelf label) solution for its member stores.
Among Mestergruppen’s member stores in Norway and Sweden are chains such as XL-BYGG, Byggtorget, Fargerike, Kulør, Mal Proff and VVS Norge.
– We want to use electronic shelf labels in our warehouses to streamline work processes and thus free up time that we can spend on our customers. The choice fell on Delfi Technologies because of price, short delivery time, good customer service and because they have a good solution for recycling labels, says Håvard Persen, Category Manager at Mestergruppen.

Many are surprised by how easy it is to use and that they can use an app on their phone and handheld terminals to change the price, says Kenneth Eide, who works as a Senior Industry Specialist at Delfi Technologies.

Effective price control and real-time updates
The solution from Delfi Technologies has several business opportunities and advantages. The electronic shelf labels make it possible to update prices and product information in real time. In addition to creating a more streamlined workflow for staff members, it also helps to make the customer experience more informative, with always up-to-date information – to the benefit of both customers and the staff.
One of the biggest advantages is the complete price control. Instead of performing the time-consuming task of manually changing prices on each shelf, employees can do it with a single keystroke in the ERP system. Prices are adjusted in real time to match current campaigns or changes in the market, such as changing purchase prices. Stores can also react more quickly to competitor pricing and adjust their own promotions and prices in real time.
The electronic label solution can also be used to promote special offers and promotions. Featured prices, logos and stock displays can attract attention and increase sales of selected items.
Synchronized prices with online store
It is also possible to synchronize prices with the online store. When there is a promotional item in the online store, the price is also updated in the store. This ensures that customers can always be sure of getting the same price in physical store as online.
Effective inventory management and reduction of waste
Another benefit that the system provides is improved inventory management. The electronic shelf labels are integrated with the store’s ERP system, where the stock quantity on the labels in the stores is now also visible. In this way, customers and employees can quickly get an overview of the goods and the relevant stock.
Directly on the shelf, employees can see if there are more items in stock, and therefore do not have to waste unnecessary time going out to the warehouse to check. If the shelf is empty and it says that the product is in stock, the customer can also become aware that this product may be double-exposed and may be located elsewhere in the store, or an employee can help pick up the product from the warehouse. When an item is sold, the inventory is automatically updated in real time.
Advanced technology made simple
The solution from Delfi Technologies is designed with a user-friendly approach to make operation as trouble-free as possible. Installation is plug-and-play and requires minimal effort. You don’t have to worry about complex installations or technical challenges – you just need to connect an antenna to an internet socket, mount the electronic shelf labels on the shelves, and then connect products and labels with Delfi’s app, BreeceGo. The brands then automatically receive product information and prices. A battery life of up to 10 years also ensures that you don’t have to worry about frequent replacements.
