The store has also installed digital price tags from Delfi Technologies.
24/7 convenience
The unmanned store is strategically located in the heart of Farum, easily accessible to both residents and visitors to the city. In a time of limited manpower in the pharmaceutical sector, an unmanned solution like this is an especially good idea to ensure that the local population always has access to necessary health products.
That’s why Vural Kocak, owner of Medicin & Sundhed in Farum, contacted Retail 360 Box Solutions to implement an unmanned store solution. The store has been equipped with a self-service solution and the latest technology that allows customers to shop around the clock, exactly when it suits them. Whether it’s early in the morning or late at night, Medicine & Health is always open and ready to meet customers’ needs.
Access via mobile and My ID
Customers enter the store by scanning a QR code on the door and then register using My ID. Once registered, the door opens and customers can shop at their leisure. Everything from skincare products, vitamins, supplements, herbal remedies, intimate products, hair care products, health devices and various tests can be found here.
Once you have found your items, you go to the self-service checkout where you can easily and quickly pay for your purchases, both with MobilePay and payment cards. In collaboration with Farum Pharmacy, you also have the opportunity to have medicines and over-the-counter medicines delivered to the pick-up machine, which is set up in the store. Simply order online and receive an SMS code when the order is ready for pickup.
When the store had been open for 3 weeks, I went on vacation for 3 weeks myself. I don't think that would be possible in many other types of stores where it's not automated as much as here.
Digital price tags make price management easy
The store is equipped with digital price tags, which helps to ease the workload for the owner. The goal of the unmanned store is to be as self-driving as possible. That’s why it makes extra sense to implement digital price tags. That way, the prices displayed in the store are always synchronized with the self-service checkout.
The digital price tags retrieve data from the ERP system in the self-service checkout system, but it could also be from other data sources, such as a webshop or similar.

Fixed low prices with just a few clicks
Medicine & Health has fixed low prices, so it’s also important for Vural to be able to change prices easily and quickly, so customers are always sure to get the best price. Vural mentions that he can basically sit at home and change prices in the self-service checkout and on the shelves, without having to go to the store to change price tags and update prices in the checkout.
