Erdinc Özel, Group Assistant Manager at Christianshavn Apotek, Fields Apotek and Islands Brygge Apotek, has an eye for initiatives that can create a more modern and customer-oriented pharmacy experience. When he heard that A-apoteket, a chain of voluntary pharmacies in Denmark, had signed an agreement with Delfi Technologies as the new supplier of digital price tags for Danish pharmacies, he had no doubts – this was exactly the solution he would implement at Christianshavn Apotek.

– The fact that Delfi Technologies has extensive experience in many different industries is a definite plus. Even though we are a pharmacy, we can draw inspiration from how stores in other industries use digital signage,” says Erdinc Özel.

Modern technology creates value for the pharmacy

With the digital price tags, Christianshavn Apotek has created a more modern and efficient pharmacy experience that not only saves time and reduces price errors, but also improves the overall customer experience. For Erdinc Özel, working with Delfi Technologies has proven to be a step in the right direction towards a more future-proof pharmacy that can meet customer needs in a modern and dynamic way.

In the past, pharmacies were often challenged with price errors, either because prices were not updated correctly or because they forgot to change the price on the signs. With digital price tags, these issues are now eliminated, which has a positive impact on the entire customer experience.

On the signs, the pharmacy can display everything from product descriptions and prices to item numbers and information about supplements. It is also possible to display multiple items on the same sign, which is often used when there is a lack of shelf space or multiple items of the same type. Offers are also marked with a clear red heat and an indication of savings – e.g. pre-price or “save 20%”.

Smart management directly at the shelf

One of the features that has particularly impressed Erdinc Özel and his team is the ability to manage the signs directly at the shelf via a mobile phone. This gives staff a much more efficient and flexible way of working.

– Especially the fact that we can walk around with a mobile phone and manage signs directly at the shelf – that’s really smart,” says Erdinc Özel.

The solution can be managed via an app(BreeceGo) on existing mobile phones or handheld terminals, providing access to all essential system information and functions such as assigning new signs, swapping signs and much more. This allows the pharmacy to quickly and easily make changes and customizations without having to interrupt the workflow to, for example, go back and forth between the back room and sales area.
