Gartencenter Zimmermann focuses on digital price tags

One of the main reasons why Gartencenter Zimmermann has introduced digital price tags is the speed and flexibility of the software solution and the associated item management interface.

Especially in the area of consumables such as cut flowers, the flexibility of Delfi’s solution helps significantly, according to Store Manager Steffen Zierold. Short-term sales promotions are possible without much effort. Employees no longer need to print and place manual price tags for offers – instead, they activate the new pricing in their item management interface using the Delfi BreeceGo solution.

More time for customers

“Competent advice is a key value that we want to offer our customers. For this we need our employees. The Delfi solution enables us to create this time for our employees without neglecting all the important information about prices and product labeling,” says Managing Director Wolfgang Zimmermann. With the three sign sizes used (Chroma 21, 29 and 42), all necessary information can be easily conveyed. “Our staff are enthusiastic about the ease of use of digital price tags. Even new products are entered into the labeling system via the existing company phone,” says store manager Zierold enthusiastically. This paves the way for competent customer advice, which is reflected in the large number of regular customers who have been visiting us for years. “We use Delfi because it allows us to always have the current prices of the goods displayed. No need for complex infrastructure

The BreeceGo app from Delfi Technologies makes it easy for the team at Gartencenter Zimmermann to manage their approximately 2,600 digital signs. Delfi TechnologiesThe solution communicates directly via interface to the inventory management system. Despite the structural conditions of the garden center, only 2 antennas had to be installed, through which the (price) information is transmitted to the Chroma signs via radio. Interference from the existing WLAN network is thus excluded. The particularity of strong sunlight due to the predominantly glass-covered sales area does not cause any problems for the signs used. Despite the bright sunlight and reflection, the prices on the signs are always easy to read.

Zimmermann Garden Center can look back on more than 30 years of history. The company was founded by Wolfgang Zimmermann, a civil engineer in horticulture, who still runs it today as managing director together with his son Jörg.
