In the heart of Copenhagen’s Northwest neighborhood you will find Irma Smedetoften. The area around the Irma store is part of an urban development project to strengthen the local shopping street. In addition, Irma has just modernized the store with an emphasis on today’s trends.

Several initiatives are underway to promote development in the area around Irma Smedetoften. A special urban development project and improvements to the urban space will transform Smedetoften into an open square with inviting seating options, which is expected to become the area’s natural gathering place in the future.

Neighborhood improvement initiatives provide bright prospects for Irma Smedetoften. The area around the store will be improved and strengthened as the neighborhood’s ‘lively heart’ and local shopping street. The construction work is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.

A MODERNIZED IRMA EXPERIENCE

At Irma Smedetoften you can both do your planned grocery shopping and be inspired by the faster to-go meals. The store has also been modernized according to today’s trends, including a vegan section, delicatessen with to-go meals and coffee to-go.

The offer newspaper from Irma offers lots of inspiration and high quality groceries. In the store at Irma Smedetoften, prices are also updated automatically every time there is a new offer newspaper – the store has installed electronic price tags.

ELECTRONIC SHELF LABELS ARE AN EVERYDAY ADVANTAGE

The improvements in the local area can help the Irma store experience an increased customer flow. That’s why the store manager is particularly pleased to have installed electronic shelf labels.

– I saw a concrete need for optimization and therefore I wanted to implement electronic shelf labels. It’s only an advantage in terms of running the store and we really appreciate it in everyday life, says store manager Bendt Aagaard.

With electronic shelf labels, employees can concentrate more on customers and replenishment instead of having to deal with time-consuming price changes on paper shelf labels.

MORE THAN 25 YEARS OF LEADING STORE TECHNOLOGY FOR COOP DENMARK

Delfi Technologies and Coop Denmark have had a close collaboration over the years, which started more than 25 years ago. Today, approximately 400 Coop stores have replaced paper with electronic shelf labels (ESL) – the Breece solution from Delfi Technologies. Over time, Delfi Technologies has also delivered handheld terminals for inventory counting, barcode scanners and Receipt printers to Coop Denmark.
