HOBBII ODENSE
Hobbii continues growth adventure with new stores and more digital initiatives
The online store Hobbii.dk continues the opening of physical stores with the opening of the third store in Tarup Center in Odense. A close collaboration with Delfi Technologies, based on several digital initiatives, will help strengthen the Hobbii business towards further growth plans.
The online knitting and crochet shop, Hobbii.dk, continues its expansion into physical channels. Store no. 3 has opened and there are plans for further store openings – both in Denmark and Germany. One of the biggest challenges with online is the fact that many customers want to see or feel yarn in real life. According to Joachim Hansen, Retail Manager at Hobbii, the physical stores are therefore an obvious supplement to the webshop.
– Our physical stores are meant to complement our online webshop, where we can cater to the customers who enjoy browsing the local yarn store, where they come in to see, feel and smell the yarn.
"Today, our customers are present both online and offline. That's why it's important that we can help them by using different digital initiatives that create an interaction between the two worlds."
SYNERGY BETWEEN ONLINE AND OFFLINE
Similar to online, the idea with physical stores is that the shopping experience should be inviting and inspiring. At the same time, customers should be able to find exactly what they are looking for with the same ease as an online shopping experience. That’s why Hobbii has invested in various digital interfaces to create synergy between online and offline.
– Today, our customers are present both online and offline. That’s why it’s important that we can help them by using various digital initiatives that create an interaction between the two worlds,” says Joachim Hansen.
For Hobbii, it is important that customers get the same great experience across channels. Therefore, electronic price tags ensure that prices are the same whether you buy online or in one of the stores.
One of the challenges in physical stores is the accessories on the walls. With more than 2500 different products on a limited wall space, it can be difficult to find exactly the price you are looking for. That’s why Hobbii has placed price scanners in strategic locations around the stores.
IMPROVED IN-STORE CHECKOUT EXPERIENCE
Many customers shop online because they know what they need. At the same time, it’s quick and easy to make purchases and complete payment. Hobbii wants to give customers in physical stores the same smooth experience by improving the checkout experience. That’s why they have invested in a new generation POS (Point of Sale) system – an all-in-one POS solution for the checkout and digital sales tool that makes it possible to help and serve customers quickly.
– For us, having a presence in physical stores is a necessity. Therefore, it is important to have a simple and elegant POS solution that ensures good service and contributes to customer satisfaction. It also doesn’t matter that it looks good and fits in with our overall store design,” explains Joachim Hansen.
The POS solution consists of the HP Engage All-in-One POS system with barcode scanner and integrated Receipt printer. In addition, Delfi Technologies has also delivered cash drawers and Receipt rolls to the stores.
With Delfi Technologies as a partner, Hobbii also has plans for further digital initiatives to tie the physical stores even closer to the online world. All solutions in the stores run online – both electronic shelf labels, self-service screens (price scanners) and the POS system.
NEW LARGE CENTRAL WAREHOUSE IN GREVE
Hobbii is currently also working on establishing a new large central warehouse in Greve. Here, Delfi Technologies is helping with an integrated warehouse solution for picking goods and efficient package handling via workstations in the warehouse. This project includes touch screens, barcode scanners, label printers, etc.
